The weather was fine, so along with our holiday guests we headed to the Desert Botanical Garden In Phoenix for the stunning exhibition of art glass by Dale Chihuly.
Chihuly is credited with revolutionizing the Studio Glass movement and elevating the perception of the glass medium from craft to fine art. He is renowned for his ambitious architectural installations around the world, in historic cities, museums and gardens. Chihuly’s work is included in more than 200 museum collections worldwide including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Corning Museum of Glass.
Here are some pictures I took along the trail
What a fun day we spent together enjoying art and nature!
There isn't much space for a lot of decorating in my little Casita but I managed to get some of my favorite Christmas things displayed for the holidays. If some of you are familiar with me you know how I love trees. When I lived in the 1840 house in upstate New York I had a tree or two in every room. There's no room for that here. Below are pictures of my little Casita almost completely decorated for Christmas.
BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, Audrey.
I started painting the trees that you see on my living room wall with intensions of painting several more.
Not quite sure if I should or not, so I left it alone. I still think it's missing something...maybe another branch extending on the lower left? I don't know, but any suggestions are welcome.
I know, it's been a long time since I've posted something on my blog. I've been terribly busy working on my little Casita also my daughter and her husband's house. We still have a ways to go but I decided to post a few pictures of what I have done so far
to the living room/kitchenette. The bedroom is still a work in progress so I will not be sharing that as of yet.
Do you remember that hutch I scored on Craigslist well here is the before picture :
Here is the after:
Gray is my new favorite color so I am incorporating some of my mustard color items to go with the gray in my kitchenette and living room. I haven't found just the right fabric for curtains or painted the windsors(also found on Craigslist)but I do have a chandelier that hasn't been hung yet and a 24 inch stove that still needs electrical wiring before it can be installed.
