I FOUND THESE

I don't use Craigslist for anything but when I saw the deal one of my friends got on that site I was on the search for Windsor chairs. I would love to purchase a couple of brand new ones but if you have ever priced them you know a single chair could set you back well over $500. I have had no luck finding any in my area so the search continues. While searching several days ago I did come across what I considered a deal on a bed. I tossed and turned for a couple of nights hoping it would still be available when I got a chance to go check it out. Well yesterday I was able to go check it out. It was love at first sight for me and before the owner could count the money I shoved in her hand, I was headed to the SUV with headboard in tow. It actually came with a footboard, sideboards and a side table too. The side table is not my taste but maybe there is something I can convert it into so it's not a total waste.(ANY SUGGESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE FOR THE SIDE TABLE WILL BE WELCOMED)
Here is the headboard
Here is the footboard
Now here is that side table that I need suggestions for. (It also has a piece that slides out.)
So what do you think? I may strip the bed down and paint it too. Looking for your help bloggers!
Thanks! Audrey

What a pretty bed !!! The night stand is nice, I like the breadboard gizzie that slides out...if you decide to paint everything with a nice time worn finish, it will look great ! A great find !!

Hi, Audrey,
What a neat bed! Lucky you... For the side table, how about removing the chunky feet, removing the drawers, painting and distressing it to look like a bucket bench. Just as idea...

Great stuff, Audrey! Me...I'd paint it black...I have a black highboy that is my favorite piece. I think the bed looks kind of Windsor-y and the night stand has great lines on the top and nice feet. Home Depot use to make a wonderful black paint that had a wonderful patina...sorry I don't remember the name or brand. Whatever you decide...you made a great purchase!
Have a nice weekend,
Robyn

The bed frame is beautiful! I think both pieces would look fantastic painted primitive and new handles on the nightstand. Can't wait to see what you do with them! Enjoy, Dawn

Whoa! That's a pretty bed. I think I'd leave it alone. The side table could use something though. I'm always asking others for ideas too, so I can't help you there. I better check that Craig's list out though.

i would separate the piece. take out the top drawer, look up under there, you should find screws to remove that top part. then do what you want with the bottom piece, but that top piece csn be used as a cover in the kitchen for appliance cover like toaster or such. even a bread box cover without a bottom. or put a piece on the bottom as a new bottom of a box with a flip lid. also on the top should be able to hold smaller receipe books? hard to tell in the picture.so many possibilities

Good morning Audrey. Love that bed! Ive never seen anything like it. The dresser is unique too. I think a paint job on it would give it a whole new look. Just what you needed is another job ha? Can't wait to see the bed put together.

LUV the headboard.
I am usually basecoating in barn Red and Black for the top coat with some distressing and then antiquing...but that's me ... not much imagination. That would match my windsor chairs too.

Blessed be with Peace,
Barb

Hi Audrey, Thanks for visiting and leaving such a nice comment about my 'Bird Pincushion Tutorial'. Love the bed you found on Craigslist. I would try painting the side table and changing out the door handles. It's amazing how paint transforms the look of furniture. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Have a Wonderful Day,
Suzanne

OMG! That bed is wonderful, Audrey!!! I'm a Craigslist Junkie! :> )

I may be the odd man out here but I wouldn't paint the bed. I would however paint the side table.

I just "discovered" Benjamin Moore's "Swiss Coffee" color. That table would look great a little distressed with that color.
Keep us posted!
